SUMMARY:The Tubs / Mopar Stars
LOCATION:X-Ray Arcade - 5036 S Packard Ave\, X-Ray Arcade - 5036 S Packard Ave\, Cudahy\, WI 53110
DESCRIPTION:X-RAY ARCADE AND RIOT FEST PRESENT\nLIVE MUSIC / ALL AGES\n6:30PM DOORS / 7:30PM MUSIC\n$25 CASH DAY OF\n\nTHE TUBS\nSubstack [https://thetubstack.substack.com/] | Bandcamp\n[https://thetubs.bandcamp.com/] | Instagram\n[https://www.instagram.com/_the_tubs_/] | Facebook\n[https://www.facebook.com/thetubsofficial]\nUpon arriving in the United States for The Tubs’ first tour of the country\,\nfrontman Owen Williams told The New Yorker\, “We’re here to unite the country.\nWe’re gonna come\, like\, three times. By that point\, I think this place will\nstart healing.” Then\, joyously\, they did just that\, piling into a van and\ncriss-crossing the States\, bringing their literary\, bleary-eyed\, world-weary\,\nnight-of-your-life highwire act to the masses when it was needed most. Along the\nway\, they signed to Merge Records\, who will release The Tubs’ third full-length\nalbum\, Hard Life\, on September 11\, 2026. \n\nThe Tubs have never lacked for ambition — on Hard Life\, theirs is to complicate\nthe Tub-ullar experience. Having perfected their sound across two albums and\nhundreds of shows\, the London-based Celtic jangle boyband — Williams (vocals\,\nguitar\, keyboards\, bass)\, Dan Lucas (guitar)\, Taylor Stewart (drums)\, and Max\nWarren (bass) — push themselves even further into the shimmering heart of\nvirtuosic indie rock. They’re joined by frequent collaborators Lan McArdle\n(vocals)\, George Nicholls (guitar)\, and Rachel Kenedy (keyboards)\, all of whom\nhave orbited various Tubs and Gob Nation-adjacent efforts dating back to Joanna\nGruesome\, but the secret to Hard Life’s lushness is the addition of fiddle\nplayer Chris Haigh\, an instructor and session musician who left an indelible\nmark on British pop on Steps’ “5\, 6\, 7\, 8.”\n\nMOPAR STARS\nBandcamp [https://moparstars.bandcamp.com/] | Instagram\n[https://www.instagram.com/mopar.stars/]\nMopar Stars is the hooky\, guitar-forward indie rock project from Philly artist\nNao Demand (Poison Ruïn)\, joined by guitarist Bill Magerr (Zorn)\, bassist and\nvocalist Nneka Anyaoku (S-21)\, and drummer Evan Campbell (Sheer Mag). Since\nfirst surfacing in 2023 with the Shoot the Moon tape\, the band has quietly built\na catalog that rides the line of familiar (think Bob Mould\, Teenage Fanclub\, Big\nStar) while still landing outside any one clear reference point.
