SUMMARY:Houseplant
LOCATION:Mo's Irish Pub\, Mo's Irish Pub - 142 W Wisconsin Ave\, Milwaukee\, WI 53203
DESCRIPTION:Formed during the isolation of 2020\, Houseplant has steadily evolved into a\ngenre-fluid band rooted in Louisville\, Kentucky\, blending improvisation\,\nindie-rock storytelling\, lush psychedelic soundscapes\, and groove-driven rhythm.\nThe band’s music lives at the intersection of structure and\nexploration—balancing emotionally resonant songwriting with an open-ended\,\ncollaborative approach to performance.\n\nWhile the early years saw Houseplant cultivating a grassroots following\, 2025\nmarks a clear turning point in the band’s trajectory. The additions of Ben\nAtkind (formerly of Goose)\, Chris “Roadie” Rodahaffer\, and the official\nonboarding of Sam Richardson—who began performing with the band in late\n2024—have brought new energy and cohesion to the group’s sound. Built on the\ncreative foundation laid by founding members Tavis Conley and Tommy Arnspiger\,\nthese lineup shifts have deepened the band’s improvisational instincts and\nsharpened their musical identity.\n\nThe band’s live show remains the centerpiece of its creative output: dynamic\,\nimmersive\, and ever-changing. Setlists are structured\, but designed to\nstretch—anchored by thoughtful compositions that allow the music to breathe\,\nshift\, and surprise. While improvisation is central to their identity\,\nHouseplant’s focus on lyrical craft and song structure sets them apart within\nthe broader jam landscape.\n\nWith a growing slate of live dates and new recordings underway\, Houseplant is\nentering a new chapter—focused\, fully formed\, and ready to expand their reach on\nand off stage.
